Allegheny Restoration, established in 1991, is dedicated to providing quality restoration and preservation services to meet the needs of historic structures in West Virginia and around the country. Allegheny specializes in restoring individual building components as well as whole structures dating to the late seventeenth century. The work provided is done in a style that is congruent with the period in which the particular architectural detail is built. The company has successfully restored structures and components of various types and sizes under the guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. Allegheny uses many different restoration techniques, such as epoxies in combination with traditional joinery methods, to provide a more accurate restoration. These techniques are particularly useful in attempting to save existing materials in windows, doors, and other architectural elements. When it is not possible to reuse any of the existing material, we will match in detail the particular element so it will reflect its original form both functionally and historically. In addition to complete millwork services, Allegheny will provide site work as well. This includes restoring windows and doors on location as well as providing stabilization services for existing structures. The staff at Allegheny Restoration consists of experienced craftsmen with over 30 years experience in historic preservation and work closely with each client to achieve the most accurate restoration possible, with close attention paid to the architectural details of the structure.
