The Western Pennsylvania Craftsmen's Guild is a non-profit organization whose mission is the preservation of historic crafts through the service of top craftsmen.
The Guild is dedicated to the entire process of restoration, (not simply one trade). Many of the members have practiced their trades for ten, twenty, or even thirty years. Several are second-generation craftsmen with roots that go deep in Pittsburgh history.
Their website provides an introduction to the members and serves as a place where clients can find qualified craftsmen. The benefit is for properties, clients, and craftsmen alike. The customer may contact the artist or craftsmen directly; the Guild accepts no fees or commissions.
In many instances a project may require several trades. Guild Members work in collaboration seamlessly, bringing together a substantial pool of talent for the client.
Representing a broad array of traditional disciplines, their skills find a home in restorations as well as in new construction. The Restoration Trades currently represented are: Architectural Plastering, Art Glass, Custom Tile, Brass Casting, Iron Work, Sign Making, Carpentry, Decorative Arts & Murals, Custom Carpentry, Faux Finishing, Hardware Restoration, Gilding, Stripping & Refinishing, Fireplace and Chimney services, Painting, and Architectural Woodworking.
Please visit us at www.westpenncraftguild.com and meet the Craftsmen who can make your project a success.
