The company reclaims beams and timbers of historic wood from 19th-century -and older- buildings, and meticulously mills it for floors, walls, stairs and cabinet stock. The result is a rich, noble wood that can be as much as 200 years old.
Southern Wood Floors precision mills all five grades of solid wood, tongue-and-groove antique heart pine flooring. Most grades are available up to 10 wide. Not just a renewable resource, Southern Wood Floors antique heart pine is a renewed resource.
Southern Wood floors also mills four grades of heart pine, wide plank, and two grades of southern Yellow Pine, all harvested from fully sustainable forest resources in managed Southern pine plantations. And the company has just introduced two pre-finished heart pine floors: solid wood, tongue-and-groove heart pine grades chosen for the knots and grain characteristics of fine pine flooring.
