Founded over 40 years ago by the Carlisle family, Carlisle Wide Plank Floors produces the highest quality, hand crafted traditional wide plank floors in the industry. Carlisle offers a broad variety of wood flooring including old growth Eastern White pines, Long Leaf Southern heart pines, premier hardwoods and FSC-certified antique woods.
Carlisle hand makes its floors in two New Hampshire facilities. Selling to homeowners, architects, designers, and builders, Carlisle crafts each floor to be reminiscent of older floors commonly seen in early American architecture on the east coast. This forgotten folk art was derived from the times when the entire log was used for crafting a floor and any part of a home and not wasted due to grade or dimension.
By sawing "through-and-through" and preserving the entire dimension and heart of the timber, as they did in the early days, you preserve the entire integrity or story of the life of the tree.
For over 40 years, Carlisle has hand selected and milled traditional wide plank flooring to create a unique environment and lifestyle for its customers. Carlisle operates wide plank flooring design centers in Denver, CO, Atlanta, GA, and West Hollywood, CA (coming: Fall 2007). In addition to installations in residences, Carlisle's wide plank floors are also featured in upscale commercial settings including the Mercer Hotel in New York City, The St Regis (Aspen) and The Park Hyatt in Washington DC.
